The official kick-off event of the EUH2STARS project took place this week. The coordinator RAG invited all international project partners to Vienna from 18th to 20th of March.
The kick-off started with a Welcome Dinner in the heart of Vienna on Monday. So far, the consortium had just met online, so this was a great opportunity to get to know each other in person and to talk about different issues concerning the project and working together for the next 5 years.
On the second day the kick-off workshop took place at the building of the Federation of Austrian Industry in Vienna. After the keynote speeches of RAG CEO Markus Mitteregger and Stephan Bauer, Head of the Green Gas Technologies department at RAG, all project partners introduced themselves.
Also the EUH2STARS project officer Dionisis Tsimis and the financial officer Nora Ovcharova from the Clean Hydrogen Partnership joined the participants online in order to follow the presentations and give an overview about project and financial reporting.
Afterwards the project manager Matthias Greiml presented the project timeline and major milestones, the organigram and further organizational elements.
In the afternoon the work package leaders gave an overview and update about the different work packages. After each presentation there was enough room for questions and for discussion.
On Wednesday the project partners had the chance to visit the Underground Sun Storage 2030 site in Rubensdorf in Upper Austria, which will further be utilized as physical demonstrator within the scope of the EUH2STARS project. This way the project partners gained insights into a 100% hydrogen storage in a depleted natural gas reservoir.
We are delighted that all the project partners took their time to come to Austria and we are motivated and looking forward to working together for the next 5 years!
